LOS ANGELES - BUSINESS WIRE (October 31, 2007):
UCLA Anderson School Welcomes New Assistant Dean of Executive Education Programs
UCLA Anderson School of Management has appointed Kelly Bean Assistant Dean of the school's office of Executive Education Programs. Bean, who brings to UCLA Anderson over 10 years of business education experience, most recently served as Executive Director of Executive Education for Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Prior to her Emory appointment, she was the Associate Director of Executive Education at the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
"We are delighted to welcome such a rising star in executive education to UCLA Anderson," said Alfred E. Osborne, Jr., senior associate dean of UCLA Anderson School of Management. "Kelly Bean has been building programs in corporate and custom executive education for many years and, with all she has accomplished, we expect her to fit right in, kick-off from the foundation for her predecessor, and expand our external presence around the globe."
Describing UCLA Anderson's executive education programs as first-rate, Bean said she is enthused about joining UCLA Anderson because of the critical role executive education plays in the school's overall strategic plan. Bean added that she looks forward to building on the solid foundation established by former executive director Laurie Dowling, and to joining a team of talented people dedicated to providing exemplary client service and innovative programming. "As business challenges grow in the U.S. and around the world, the need for leadership, strategy, and execution becomes increasingly more important," said Bean. "Together with UCLA Anderson's unparalleled faculty, the Office of Executive Education Programs can fulfill that need with energy, focus, and innovative learning solutions."
With a management background strong in organizational design and development, Bean has created and delivered executive education programs on topics such as management practices, corporate governance, and leadership, to name a few. Her executive education clients have included The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, Intercontinental Hotels Groups, Chevron/Texaco, and Verizon among others.
Bean has extensive experience in human resources, designing performance management systems, conducting human resources audits, and leading organizational change efforts for major companies. She is also a certified consultant for the Birkman Method, the industry-leading personality assessment process that measures human behavior and occupational strengths.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Bean received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Human Resources from the University of South Carolina. She currently serves as a board member and program committee chair for the Human Resource Planning Society in Atlanta, GA., and is active in variety of professional organizations.
