First Annual Roger W. Birkman Award for Research Studies
Call for White Papers and Case Studies
Birkman International, Inc. is proud to sponsor the first annual Roger W. Birkman Award for Research Studies. Birkman Interantional is seeking the submission of case studies or white papers reporting on the practical application of The Birkman Method® in the areas of:
Executive Coaching-
Leadership Development-
Team Building-
Career Guidence
The case studies or white papers should, if possible, name the subject of the study (with the subject's permission), and should include an abstract, objectives of project, list of milestones/deliversables, and the significance of the work. Studies that indicate concrete and measurable results arising from the project will be given preference in the selection process. The studies should be no more than 5000 words.
The submissions will be judged by a committee consisting of Dr. Roger Birkman, Dr. Larry Lee and Lynn Greene.
First prize will consist of a cash award of $2500. Second and third prize will consist of a cash award of $1500 and $1000, respectively. Birkman International and the authors of the winning studies will have joint rights of use and publication. The winning studies will be featured on the Birkman International website and may be featured in promotional materials distributed by Birkman International.
Submission must be electronic in MS Word or PDF format and submitted to birkmanaward@birkman.com. White papers submissions are due by 5:00 PM on November 30, 2006.
The submission should be in APA Style:
- 1. Begin the paper with:
- a. a description of the situation and
- b. a strong problem statement or thesis

- 2. The body of the paper should be comprised of
- a. the problem solving sequence and
- b. the results
-
- 3. The conclusion should summarize
- a. the impact of the research and/or intervention
- b. what you learned and the insights you gained in the process and
- c. how you would improve your process if you had to do it again, if applicable.
